I own over 500 acres, 50 is for family use only. I have hogs, chickens and goats. After this years harvest we caned enough stuff to survive until 2015. I have seed corn and other s for next spring, already order the commercial stuff also.
I always have a "food bank" or overflowing pantry. not because of a depression, but because when there is a super good sale, I stock up. It's how smart people save money.
